Dr Jake Cashion is a neurovascular biologist originally from Tasmania, Australia. Before joining the Microvascular Manchester team, he completed his PhD with the Perivascular Research Group at the University of Tasmania, led by Professor Brad Sutherland, where he investigated the role of pericytes in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis.
Jake joined the Microvascular Manchester group in 2025 and works with Dr Harry Pritchard, Professor Adam Greenstein, and Professor Stuart Allen. His research uses preclinical models to evaluate novel therapeutics aimed at restoring cerebral blood flow in vascular dementia.
Outside of work, Jake enjoys travelling and playing board games.
