Kirsty is a first year PhD student investigating the dysfunction BK (potassium) channels in blood vessels of the brain in dementia. To study this, she will use pressure myography and hopes to study mouse behaviour and utilise imaging techniques. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Immunology and Pharmacology (BSc Hons) from the University of Strathclyde and a master’s in Cardiovascular Sciences (MSc) at the University of Glasgow. While not in the lab, Kirsty enjoys climbing hills and running.
