Nina Conlon

Nina is a final year PhD student investigating vascular dysfunction following ischemic stroke. Her main techniques in the lab include pressure myography to study vessel diameter and the Capillary to Parenchymal-Arteriole (CaPA) preparation to study neurovascular coupling in health and disease. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Dundee and then received her MSc in Applied Neuroscience also at Dundee. She then moved to Manchester where she started the 4-year British Heart Foundation PhD programme, where she obtained an MRes in Cardiovascular Sciences before starting her PhD. Nina looks forward to getting more involved in outreach programmes this year and spends her free time on a hill or in the pub!
