2025: Adam’s Professorship Party!
To celebrate Adam’s hard earned professorship (which he was appointed in August 2024), the lab, our collaborators, family and friends got together for a party. The highlight of everyone’s night was the amazing performance by Adam and his band!

2024: Dr Katy Walsh passes her PhD viva!
Congratulations to Katy who successfully defended her PhD, examined by Professor Catherine Hall from the University of Sussex. Katy will be beginning her post-doctoral position working with Harvard Medical School at Massachusetts General Hospital in December 2024.

2024: Natalie Kate Moss Trust
Lowri took part in the Brain Inflammation Group’s annual fundraiser for the Natalie Kate Moss Trust. Together they raised over £10,000 by walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks (in 70mph winds!). The lab then celebrated all the hard work that the NKMT has done over the last year at their annual fundraising event.

2023: Penrallt Coastal Camping Trip
We visited Penrallt for our annual camping trip. Highlights included Daphne (Adam’s labradoodle) eating Katy’s bacon sandwich, paddleboarding at Porth Iago, our new Canvas bell tent and Freya (Jo’s daughter) on her first camping trip. We were delighted to be sponsored by Regatta who provided T-shirts, fleeces and raincoats (even though we didn’t need them as the weather was fantastic).

2023: Dr Jade Taylor Passes Her PhD Viva!
Congratulations to Jade who successfully defended her PhD, examined by Professor John McCarron from the University of Strathclyde. Jade has been awarded an American Heart Association Fellowship for her first post-doctoral appointment at the University of California, Davis, working with Professor Manuel Navedo.

Christmas 2022: Partying with our friends from Strathclyde
Katy, our social secretary, took us to Total Ninja in Trafford Park and then on to an Italian restaurant for our Christmas Lab night out.

2022: Penrallt Camping Trip
We returned to the incredible Penrallt Coastal Campsite in July for our annual lab camping trip. The star of the show was Ben (Jo’s son) who ruled the campsite with a rod of steel. Daphne (Adam’s labradoodle) also attended and had a great time. Beach olympics at Porth Iago (below) were won by Jade Taylor.
